Where does your week actually go?

Plan the 168 hours you have each week, see what is already committed, and make room for one small, realistic change. No account, pressure, or perfect schedule required.

Your weekly time budget

Estimate the hours you spend in each area of a typical week. Use mutually exclusive categories: for example, time spent studying on your phone belongs in “Work or study,” not again in “Leisure.” This is a reflection tool, not surveillance or productivity scoring.

Numbers are examples, not recommendations. Enter your own hours in increments of 0.5. Avoid double-counting time across categories.

154 of 168 weekly hours currently assigned.

Your sample week leaves 14 hours not yet allocated. Treat these as a flexible buffer, not automatically as spare time.

How to use the result

Start with a trade-off, not another obligation.

Look for time already committed to activities you could reasonably reschedule—not necessarily eliminate. Work, care, rest and leisure may all matter. Avoid labeling all screen time as “wasted,” and do not sacrifice essential sleep or care to make a number look better.

A modest experiment could be three 15-minute sessions for reading, movement, connecting with someone, or preparing for the next week. If the budget is already full, decide what you can reduce, share, postpone or stop before adding something new.

The calculator covers a typical 168-hour week and uses simple arithmetic. It cannot estimate your energy, health, caregiving complexity, overlapping tasks or unpredictable events. Your unallocated balance is not a guarantee of free time.
