Share what you know.
Offer a small, clearly defined activity you feel comfortable doing, online or in a suitable public setting.
Example only: “I can practise Norwegian conversation with a beginner for 45 minutes.”
Better Lifestyle / Better Together · Community pilot
What if the help you need could begin with something you already know? Better Together is our space for exchanging skills, helping a neighbour and creating real connections — without paying one another for the help exchanged.
A new kind of community
You might know Excel, speak another language, enjoy helping people learn, or want to help organize a small community event. You might need some help yourself. The aim is a welcoming, practical place where support is mutual, participation is voluntary, and nobody is expected to have expensive skills or equipment.
Offer a small, clearly defined activity you feel comfortable doing, online or in a suitable public setting.
Example only: “I can practise Norwegian conversation with a beginner for 45 minutes.”
Request practical, low-risk assistance and describe what would be useful, how long it may take, and any accessibility needs.
Example only: “I’d love a friendly explanation of basic spreadsheets.”

New free tools / Plan before you participate
You can plan a skill swap or organize a small public skill-sharing workshop without creating a public profile. These tools work on your device and don’t automatically submit anything to Better Lifestyle. They are practical starting points, not proof of eligibility or consent.
Describe what you can offer, what you need in return (if anything), time boundaries, meeting preferences and optional materials. Generate text to review, copy, or print locally.
Draft a skill-sharing meetup invitation, adapt a 60-minute agenda and review a 12-point event safety and accessibility checklist. These are templates, not registered events.
Draft a polite refusal, ask for help, or agree on an exchange boundary without pressure. Review three versions before deciding what to share.
Discover possibilities
These are ideas for future community offers and requests, not real users or live available services.
Conversation practice in Norwegian, English, French, Arabic or another language.
Explain a basic concept, discuss study methods, or support a learning routine. No academic dishonesty.
Learn spreadsheets, smartphone settings, safe browsing and everyday technology basics.
Review a design, practise a presentation, or offer feedback on a personal portfolio.
Practise interview questions, improve CV readability, or exchange career exploration tips.
Organize a book discussion, local cleanup or inclusive hobby activity in a public setting.
Three exchange models
Two adults voluntarily agree to exchange small tasks, such as language practice for creative feedback. No pressure to accept or continue.
Offer something useful without expecting an immediate favor in return. Community generosity is not a debt.
A possible time bank could support indirect exchanges later, after legal, moderation, fraud and operational review. It is not active.
Trust, dignity and safety
Better Together is a voluntary community initiative, not an employer, professional-services marketplace, insurance provider, emergency service or guarantee of skill or outcome. The pilot follows these rules:
Before making contact, read our dedicated Community Safety & Reporting guide, general comment guidelines, and privacy policy.
Help shape the first exchanges
Use the private contact form below to tell us what you would like to offer or request. Participation starts with a message, not a public profile. We will only explore introductions after additional consent and suitability review.
Subject: write “Community offer”, “Community request”, or “Community volunteer”. In the message include your general area (for example “Oslo” or “online”), the skill or request, approximately how much time you have, and whether you prefer online or public-place activities. You can also ask only for launch updates.
The form uses our existing contact system. Do not share sensitive information. Submitting does not create membership, publish your information, or authorize us to share your details with other people.
What’s coming next
Broad locations, languages, skills and preferred activities, after moderation and privacy design.
Search by topic, remote/local availability and time commitment, without exposing private contact details.
Two-way confirmation, reporting channels and account controls; only later consider time credits after legal review.
Frequently asked questions
The pilot does not take or process payments. Members may choose voluntary, small activities, but no-cash exchange does not automatically remove tax, labor or other legal requirements. The treatment depends on the circumstances.
No for low-risk, informal skill-sharing, but never falsely claim certification or offer regulated, hazardous or personal-care services.
No. The interest form is a private inquiry to the Better Lifestyle team. We will not publish or disclose it to another member without further permission.
Not yet. This is a moderated pilot intake and information hub. Future features require dedicated engineering, moderation and privacy work.
No. Norwegian rules can treat barter and non-cash consideration as relevant in certain circumstances. See Skatteetaten’s explanation of barter and get qualified advice for particular circumstances.
Better Lifestyle is about improving life one meaningful step at a time — and sometimes that step is helping another person. Join thoughtfully, ask for help with dignity, and help us build something worth trusting.
